Denver a Best Place for Retirees
According to the The Denver Post from December 10, 2007, Denver ranks 10th on Forbes.com's list of the Best Places for Retirees. In addition to being one of the nation's most active cities, Denver has over 300 days of sunshine per year, making a home in central Denver an attractive commodity.
Forbes.com compared 100 of the largest U.S. metropolitan areas, considering traditional factors such as the cost; sales, property and income-tax rates; arts and leisure activities; and cost of living. It also looked at new factors, such as the "retirement job market" and added a Forbes.com study of inter- metro migration patterns of people ages 55 to 65.
The study showed where people approaching or beginning their retirement are actually going, rather than which cities simply have aging populations.
